Election policy statement:
Working for the community
Jackie has worked hard to tackle your concerns in the Scottish Parliament, winning more money for our area - £1m for Dumbarton and Balloch Bridges; £1m for Dumbarton Sheriff Court; £9m for better Neighbourhood Services; improvements to Dumbuck Junction; and helping CHAS build a new hospice at Loch Lomond.

Working hard on education
Over the past 4 years, Labour has provided record levels of investment in education. A new pay deal for teachers, new schools for Helensburgh and Arrochar, and refurbished schools in Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven. Maintenance Allowances have allowed students to stay on at school and tuition fees have been abolished.

Working hard on health
With Labour, health spending in Scotland has increased from £4.9bn to a record £7bn. And we can see the difference - new medical centres at Kilcreggan, Garelochhead and soon in Alexandria and Dumbarton; a new cardiac unit and new CT scanner at the Vale of Leven Hospital; and maternity services will soon return to the Vale.

The best in healthcare
Jackie has led the campaign for better local services, tackling the failure of managers to support the excellent efforts of doctors and nurses. Action has been taken to create a single NHS system in the area, focused on the needs of patients. More doctors and nurses are being employed and HCI is now in the NHS to tackle waiting times.

Labour working for you in Dumbarton Constituency
I have been proud to represent you in the Scottish Parliament for the last four years. Working together, we have achieved much for our area.
- attracting new jobs and businesses
- investing in our children's education
- delivering a health service focused on patients
- free bus travel and central heating for pensioners
And, of course, so much more. We have made good progress, but there is a lot more to do. By voting Labour on 1st May you will have the chance to build on these achievements, and to do even more for your family and your community.

Working hard for pensioners
Labour has listened to pensioners and in four short years has delivered much - with free bus travel across Strathclyde benefiting 12,845 pensioners in our area; free central heating so that every pensioner has a warm, dry home; and free personal care for the elderly, providing dignity in old age.

Working hard to tackle crime
Labour has introduced tough new measures to tackle crime, drugs and youth offending: new powers to seize the assets of drug dealers; more Police officers than ever before; and action to make our communities safer with Anti-Social Behaviour orders. Neighbourhood Wardens and extra funding for CCTV.

Working hard on jobs
Working closely with Westminster, Labour has delivered a strong, stable economy with the lowest unemployment for a generation. With 141 new business start ups and the BBC's River City, Lomond Shores, Jenners, and the creation of Scotland's first National Park at Loch Lomond, the area is back on the economic map.

Working hard for children
Labour has delivered a free nursery place for every 3 and 4 year old. There are now smaller class sizes in P1 to P3 and classroom assistants in every school. We have introduced free fruit to schools and nurseries, funded Safer Routes to Schools projects and helped schools raise achievement levels for all children.

Only Labour will put schools, health and the fight against crime first. Only Labour can be trusted to deliver for everyone in our community.
In the next 4 years we will reduce class sizes in the key stages of secondary education; guarantee an appointment with a GP or member of the local health team within 48 hours; introduce tougher sentences for drug dealers; and extend free travel for pensioners across Scotland.
Jackie has worked hard to secure better public services and better opportunities for the people of Dumbarton Constituency. Help her to do even more by voting Labour on 1st May.

Dear Voter
Working together, in four short years, we have delivered many real achievements for our area. In health, I have worked hard to tackle the poor management of NHS Argyll & Clyde, replacing it with a single health delivery system focused on patients. Locally, an extra £80million has been invested in health care and, in the next few months, maternity services will be back at the Vale of Leven Hospital.
In education, every 3 and 4 year old now has access to a nursery place, class sizes have been reduced for the early years, and there are classroom assistants in every school. Almost £100million has been provided for new schools in our area. For pensioners, we have introduced free central heating, free bus travel and free personal care for the elderly.
New powers have been introduced to seize the assets of drug dealers and to tackle anti-social behaviour. Locally we have seen the creation of Scotland's first National Park at Loch Lomond with the potential to bring many new jobs to the area.
I hope that I can count on your support on 1st May, so that we can continue to build on these achievements for Dumbarton Constituency.
Yours faithfully
Jackie Baillie
