Election policy statement:
Dear Voter
It has been a privilege to represent you in the Scottish Parliament and I want to ask for your vote on May 1st to continue doing so.
My wife Claire and I live here in East Renfrewshire with our children and we share your concern to see better schools and hospitals, to crack down on crime and to increase prosperity. I believe Labour has made a good start delivering more doctors, more teachers and more police officers, but there is much more to do.
I have worked hard and have stood up for local people. Resigning as a Ministerial Aide over plans to relocate local A&E services was not an easy decision but I am determined that local residents must always come first.
It is easy to forget just how bad things were under the Tories. Only Labour can slop the Tories in this constituency. A vote for the Nationalists or the Liberals will let the Tories in through the back door.
If you want to build on what we have achieved, I would ask you to vote for Scottish Labour on May 1st.
Yours faithfully
Ken Macintosh

Labour working for you in East Renfrewshire
Labour have delivered more doctors, more teachers and more police officers but there is much more to do. If re-elected these will be my priorities:
- Continue Labour's investment in local schools
- Continue to fight for local hospitals
- Action on drug dealers & antisocial behaviour
- Safer streets & better public transport
It is easy to forget just how bad things were under the Tories. I have worked hard for the people of East Renfrewshire to make a start in the new Scottish Parliament. If you want to build on what we have achieved, I would ask you to vote Scottish Labour on May 1st.

Dignity for Pensioners
"Ken has delivered for local pensioners. The older generation can now enjoy free bus travel, free central heating and free home insulation. And of course free personal care and the crack down on anti social behaviour gives piece of mind." David and Marsha Arthur, local pensioners

Standing up for Hospitals
"Ken is a really approachable guy and has worked really hard for local people. As a nurse I know the importance of an MSP who is willing to stand up for the health service. Ken made a stand for the Victoria Infirmary and is committed to the local NHS." Jacqueline Fletcher, Nurse

Helping Families
"Labour have been great for families. You only need to look at our local schools and the improvements we are beginning to see in the NHS. I know that Ken's got a young family too and he knows we need a safe environment and the chance to give our kids the best start in life." James Williams and family

Investing in our Schools
"Ken Macintosh has made schools a priority - unlike the Tories. I am convinced that Labour's recent proposals for smaller class sizes in secondary education will help to advance equal opportunities and raise attainment in our schools."
Jennifer Fulton, Schoolteacher

Investing in Our Health Service
Labour have delivered one and a half thousand extra doctors and nurses. Ken Macintosh said, "I resigned as a Ministerial Aide over plans to relocate local A&E services and I will continue to put patients first. Labour is committed to investing an extra £3.2 billion while the Tories would opt out of the NHS altogether."

Improving our Schools
We have provided free nursery places for all three and four year olds and Labour will deliver more teachers and classroom assistants. Ken Macintosh said "Many local schools have already been rebuilt but Labour will provide a further £50 million investment in East Renfrewshire for new buildings."

Dignity for Older People
Labour have already introduced free personal and nursing care, provided free local bus travel and free central heating and tome insulation for older people. Ken Macintosh said "Labour will provide the security in old age that our older citizens deserve."

Safer Streets
Labour have delivered record numbers of police officers, but we need to do more. Ken Macintosh said "We must tackle the threat of drugs and deal firmly with serious offenders, but I also want to see more police on the beat. We will clamp down on the vandalism and anti-social behaviour that can make people's lives a misery".

Ken Macintosh your Labour candidate for Eastwood Constituency
I live in East Renfrewshire with my family and I want all of us to prosper in work or retirement and to enjoy decent modern public services.
We have made a good start and locally, families can see the benefits of investing in our schools. More people have jobs and more Police than ever before has cut crime. For older people, free personal care has brought peace of mind. Whether it is securing the Eaglesham bypass or fighting for local hospitals, I have stood up for my constituents. But there is still more to do. I ask for your vote on May 1st.
