Election policy statement:
Nancy Mitchell: Senior Citizen
I have known Iain Gray for many years. I know he cares about the elderly. It does not surprise me that he has been part of a Labour led Executive which has brought in free personal care, free off peak bus travel and free central heating installation for older citizens, Iain cares about people, old and young. He is on my side, and so is Labour

Benny Placido: Businessman
I am Chief Executive of an IT company in Edinburgh. As Enterprise Minister Iain Gray has delivered on support for the kind of new companies our economy depends on. As Lifelong Learning Minister he has delivered record numbers of graduates from our universities. Labour is on my side

Gail Hannah: Working Mother
My two sons attend Bonaly Primary School and benefit from smaller class sizes introduced by Labour. I know how important the first years of school are - how much a good start in life matters. Now Labour plans to cut class sizes in secondary years 1 and 2. I want to see that happen. Labour is on my side - and my children's side.

Anna Merrilees: Local Activist
I have been active in my community for many years both on the Community Council and in the Colinton Mains Community Centre, in the first four years of the Scottish Parliament Iain Gray has been an excellent representative for our community, he has been very supportive of local groups and organisations. I believe Iain is on our side.

On your behalf he;
- Maintains an office in the constituency
- Holds regular surgeries around the constituency
- Distributes an annual written report to constituents
- Holds open forum meetings in Edinburgh Pentlands
Iain Gray is only standing to represent Pentlands, his first and only choice. He knows that a while lot has been done, there is still much more to do. Iain Gray is seeking your support to continue working for you in the Scottish Parliament

Tackling Crime.
Lothian and Borders has more police officers than ever before. Crime clear up rates are the best since World War II. New powers to deal with anti-social neighbours have been introduced - and used in Pentlands. CCTV cameras are being deployed. Labour is introducing Youth Courts and fast track hearings to tackle youth crime.

Transport - on the move
There will be a new rail link to Edinburgh Airport. The M8 and M80 will be completed. £375m will bring trams back to Edinburgh and other public transport improvements (regardless of the result of a referendum on road user charging). A new station will open in Edinburgh Park. Pensioners travel free on local off peak buses.

Education - for life
Labour has delivered a free nursery place for every 3 and 4 year old whose parents want it. Early primary class sizes have been cut. 100 schools rebuilt or refurbished - including several in Pentlands. More Scots attend University and FE than ever. We have introduced 20,000 apprenticeships - now we will make that 30,000.

Health - for all
Labour has delivered record investment in the NHS, more doctors and nurses. Free nursing and personal care for the elderly, Improved pay and conditions for NHS staff. Free fruit in primary schools. HCI Hospital bought to help reduce waiting times. We will abolish NHS Trusts. Labour has done a lot on Health - but there is more to do.
Iain Gray

IAIN GRAY YOUR SCOTTISH LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE FOR THE EDINBURGH PENTLANDS CONSTITUENCY
Labour has achieved a great deal in the Scottish Parliament, but there is still much to do. We have reduced class sizes in the early years of primary school, in the next four years we will reduce class sizes in the key stages of secondary education We will extend free off peak bus travel for pensioners and the disabled to all journeys, Scotland wide. Having created 20,000 apprenticeships we will now increase that number to 30,000. We will guarantee an appointment with a GP, nurse or member of the local health team within 48 hours.

Dear Voter
It has been an honour to represent Edinburgh Pentlands in the Scottish Parliament since 1999. I have played a part in policies such as free personal care, free concessionary travel, record police numbers, nursery places for all 3 and 4 year olds and new modern apprenticeships.
Locally I have worked with the police to see youth crime calls fall by half and with community groups to increase alternatives for young people. As Transport Minister I secured £375 million to improve Edinburgh's public transport, and as MSP I have fought to save threatened local bus routes.
A lot has been done, but there is more to do. My older constituents can travel free by bus in and around Edinburgh. In the next Parliament Labour will make that scheme national so they can go anywhere in Scotland. I want to see the new schools at Broomhouse and St Joseph's joined by more new schools in Edinburgh Pentlands.
I am seeking your support to continue my work for Edinburgh Pentlands. Unlike other party candidates I am standing only for Pentlands, my first and only choice. I will continue to focus on what matters to us all - Health, Education, Crime, Transport and jobs. I hope that I can count on your vote on Thursday 1st May.
Yours faithfully
Iain Gray

Peter McGavigan GP
"I am a GP in the Pentlands Constituency. Labour has made the NHS the priority of the Scottish Parliament. That has meant more money, more doctors and more nurses. Iain Gray has worked hard to make sure his constituents get the benefits. He has publicised new initiatives like free personal care to my patients. When the NHS does let someone down he fights their case because, like me, he believes everyone deserves an excellent health service."

Pauline Adam
"Iain has helped me over the last four years as a constituent and as a campaigner on health issues. He is committed to improving the health service. We need politicians like Iain Gray, who are prepared to listen.

"As the VP of Sales and marketing of one of Scotland's leading high technology companies, I have been impressed with the leadership and direction shown by the Enterprise Minister Iain Gray. I am also a Colinton resident and I am pleased that he spends such a considerable amount of time and energy on local issues such as the Redford Culvert and the Polo Fields."
