Health is the vital issue, for all of us.
With more doctors & nurses and the new Health Centre in Queensferry, the health of the nation will steadily improve and waiting lists will become a thing of the past under Labour.
Lowest unemployment in a generation.
Lowest mortgage rates in a generation.
Minimum wage increased above inflation in October, 2003 under Labour.
"I am delighted once more to be the Labour Candidate in Edinburgh West. This is a vast constituency and the Labour Party is building on the increased votes of previous campaigns and our achievements in government in both Edinburgh and Westminster."
I have extensive experience of representing people and dealing with a wide range of social problems as both a social worker and a trade union official. I recently completed a law degree as a mature student and I now specialise in employment and discrimination law. I am also a single parent and I know the reality of managing conflicting demands of work and child care. I am committed to changing our society so that all our children can grow up in a fairer and more equal Scotland.
If elected I would work hard to deliver for the people of Edinburgh West. I have spent my working life standing up for individual rights and campaigning to bring about real change in the lives of ordinary people. I have a very realistic approach to politics and my primary concern is to ensure that we all benefit from good public services.
I believe that the Labour Party is the only realistic political force that can deliver more teachers, more nurses and more police to benefit the people of Scotland.
I want to encourage everyone to vote on 1st May. If like me you want better public services and safer streets then vote Labour. Vote and you can make a difference.
