Delivering a better Scotland
The new Scottish Parliament has begun the task of making the government of Scotland work better for the people of Scotland. I am delighted that the Labour-led Scottish Executive is completing the dualling of the A1 road in East Lothian, and I welcome the big investments in local schools and the NHS.
There is much more to do, - I will fight for more affordable rented housing for local people, better hospital facilities, tougher action on crime and drugs, improved local transport and nation-wide concessionary travel for pensioners. I promise to go on working for a better Scotland and a better East Lothian.
