1. Drunkenness, etc. Return of the number of persons taken into custody for drunkenness and for disorderly conduct by the metropolitan police forces, and results in each year from 1831 to 1851, both inclusive, distinguishing each and stating the population of the metropolitan police district in 1831, 1841 and 1851; similar returns for the cities of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow. In Edinburgh during the period 1831 to 1851 between 993 and 3,325 people were convicted for drunkenness each year.

2. Drunkenness, etc. Return of the number of persons taken into custody for drunkenness and disorderly conduct in each city in the United Kingdom in each year, 1841-51. Accounts and Papers, 1853. 1852-53.

The return looked at fifteen Scottish towns and assumed there was a correlation between drink and disorderly conduct.
