Section 15.3: Ferries

The Committee "to whom the report of the trustees appointed by an Act passed in the 49th year of the reign of His present Majesty, intituled, An Act for the improvement of the passage across the Firth of Forth, called the Queensferry ... was referred, to examine into the matter thereof, and the state and utility of the improvements directed by the said Act, and into all such matters as should appear to them to be connected with the improvement of the said passage over the Firth of Forth ..."

As a result of the passing of the Act of 1809, the ferry across the Firth of Forth became public property.
